Saturday morning was a bit rainy but we braved the rain bright and early to enjoy some yummy Cafe du Monde!

Successful morning especially because then Mexico soccer won the Olympic gold medal!!!!! Woohooo!! After a lazy morning of cheering the Mexico team beat Brazil, we decided it was lunch time for some
Deanie's (see a pattern?)!

After lunch, we decided to hit up Bourbon and see the Red Dress Run... which is basically a bunch of people wearing dresses (both boys and girls) and drinking since 9 am... this is after lunch.. so there was lots of people watching!

On our way back to the hotel after a fun day of people watching on Bourbon Street we ran into this awesome lady playing the violin! She was amazing!
Finished up the night with a great dinner at
Clancy's! (Sorry no pictures of the food.. We felt like the restaurant people would judge!)

After dinner, we walked around Royal Street where a lot of art vendors where open for
Dirty Linen Night where we got to enjoy more art!
We woke up Sunday Morning and decided to tackle the French Quarter and St. Louis Cathedral! We originally visited the area on Saturday but with all the rain it wasn't quite as fun! :) Here are some of our faves:

Adam and I had brunch at the Commanders Palace restaurant. This is were Emeril Lagasse got started! The place is actually owned by the Brennan family which own Brennan's. It was a great brunch and everything was delicious.. BTW.. turtle soup and bread pudding is better at Commander's Palace restaurant than Brennan's but shh! :)
The whole time we stayed at Hotel Monteleone we wanted to try out the Carousel bar.. it is famous and just looks likes so much fun.. but it was always crowded.. finally before leaving I was able to sneak a pic and enjoy a drink there! :)
Overall, the trip was a great success! Thanks Adamers for planning such an awesome first anniversary trip! :)
